You are free to use the images you make with AI-Wordsmith Art for personal use as well as business endeavours that include those images. 

What kinds of commercial initiatives are allowed?  

We currently have no restrictions on the kinds of business endeavours in which you may use the images. You may reproduce and distribute the pictures in any way you see fit - digitally, on the internet, on your website or other sites, on t-shirts, tote bags, coffee mugs, you name it! - as long as you adhere to our terms and basic rules.

What exactly are those rules?  

AI-Wordsmith is pleased for you to use the material you create with AI-Wordsmith Art as long as you follow some basic ethical and legal guidelines. These include not breaking any laws when using the images, not exploiting minors, not sharing or creating verifiably false information, not sharing personally identifiable information, not defaming, disparaging, or harassing anyone, and not discriminating against anyone on any legally protected basis. What rights do I have to use images created by AI-Wordsmith using my input?  

You have essentially unlimited permissions to use the images professionally by using AI-Wordsmith, as long as you obey the guidelines and these conditions. For more legalese, you have a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute, and create derivative works based on those images, subject to these commercial terms and our Terms of Service. 

Can I tell the world where I got my images?  

Definitely! When you use our pictures, please tag us @heyaiwordsmith. Even better, we'd appreciate it if you could spread the word about AI-Wordsmith Art. Example: "I made this image using AI tools from [@heyaiwordsmith]," - Login and begin making images here. 

Who else may use my photos?  

Because AI-Wordsmith Art is freely accessible to the Internet community, your pictures are openly viewable and remixable by default. You give AI-Wordsmith Art and its clients the same permissions to use any images produced by AI-Wordsmith Art with your input that AI-Wordsmith Art provides you. In other words, you give us and our other users a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright permission to reproduce, prepare, publicly show, publicly perform, disseminate, and create derivative works based on those pictures.

As of now, the US Copyright office has declined to award copyright rights to AI generated images.

So I don't have sole ownership of my images?  

Our community is all about sharing, and the way our platform works, any content generated by AI-Wordsmith Art is free to use as long as you follow these terms. And if another of our users used the exact same inputs and received identical or nearly identical results, they, too, can use the resulting picture for business reasons, just like you.

Do I require any additional permissions?  

If you intend to use any of your images professionally, keep in mind that you may still need to obtain additional permissions to use the material as you wish. For example, if you make pictures of public figures such as celebs or legislators, or even non-public figures such as someone's grandma, and those people can be recognized, those people have notoriety rights that we do not own and cannot grant you permission to exploit. So, if you want to use any picture with a recognizable person, logo, or character for commercial reasons, we suggest that you first obtain permission.

What about prejudices in the generated images?  

Artificial intelligence, when used improperly, can produce pictures that support stereotypes, underrepresent groups, and are otherwise biased. We are constantly working to better the model in order to help mitigate societal biases, but it requires human involvement, discernment, and kindness in the inputs and evaluation of generated pictures. We urge that you, as a user, do your bit to reduce bias. 

So I have a permit. Could someone still object to my use of the images?  

Depending on the inputs you provide, the final picture generated may resemble a drawing, portrait, or other piece of art - even if it is not precise and was generated by our AI framework. However, some copyright proprietors or other rights holders may be concerned, and they may contact you to request that you remove your picture. 

What else should I know before using pictures for commercial purposes?  

Any use of the pictures produced by AI-Wordsmith Art, including business use, is at your own risk. AI-Wordsmith Art is given with no warranties of any kind, to the maximum degree allowed by relevant legislation. AI-Wordsmith Art makes no warranty, endorsement, promise, or accepts liability for any uses of the produced images. You promise to protect, indemnify, and hold AI-Wordsmith Art harmless from any and all uses of the images you create.
